My (almost) eleven year-old lies about everything, even when there is no negative or positive outcome effected by the answer given to a question, or by what is being said. It is driving me absolutely batshit crazy. I know all kids lie at times; I know I definitely did as a child, but I wasn’t ten when I started all out making shit up (that came later in my mid-teen’s). We have taken away the thing kiddo cares about more than anything else (anything electronic) for almost a month now, with more time being added on for each successive bout of lying/laziness.

Does this happen with other people’s kids around this age? I am not sure what else to do to get it to stop, and it. has. to. stop.

(Side note, almost as annoying as description above: every time I sit down to bang out a post about something that is bothering me, my freaking husband suddenly starts hovering around or walking in and out of the area I am in. This is also driving me fucking crazy.)
